A super Saturday on the Tasman sea enjoying beautifully calm conditions with multiple pods tracked through the day 🐋🐋🐋The team tracked a couple of whales during the morning cruise as they quickly made their way to the north showing all onboard Bubbles and Explorer plenty of “up time” showing some beautiful markings as they made their hump up dives🐋 The midday cruise conditions remained the same with the ocean taking on a very glassy and dreamy feel 😀 Our two vessels chose different whales to track, both pods contently making their way north, displaying a few pretty cool tail throws as they continued their long migration. The sunset 🌅 adventure took Bubbles and Explorer to the east as we caught up with a competition pod of seven, zig zagging to the left and right as the sun painted the sky a wonderful pallet of reds and oranges to finish a sublime day watching this amazing migration 🐋 We still have a few places available on our sunset cruise which is our favourite time to be out on the ocean🌅🌊 Next adventures Sunday 06 July - 8:30am, 11:45am & 3pm Book online at https://gowhalewatchingsydney.com.au/ or ring the office direct: 02 6495 1686Button

WE ARE BACK🐋 It is so good to be back on the ocean enjoying the clean, salty, ocean air and the sun on our faces ☺️🌞☀️🌊 During the morning cruise we enjoyed calm seas and calm whales cruising their way to the north🐋 The multiple pods spotted were displaying the same relaxed behaviour, most likely in recovery mode after the last few days of high seas🌊In the afternoon it took us very little time to find a single juvenile humpback tail slapper right outside Sydney heads. We floated around with this single whale rolling around in a hurry to go nowhere, it tail threw and tail slapped for most of the cruise😀 As Bubbles made her way back to base we came across a large bait ball and a hundred strong pod of bottle nose dolphins 🐬🐬🐬🐬 Did we mention it’s SO SO GOOD TO BE BACK ON THE OCEAN 😀 Due to demand we have introduced some additional cruises over this weekend. Each winter, tens of thousands of humpback whales pass by Sydney on one of nature’s greatest migrations, but what keeps them going? Hint: it’s not coffee, it’s krill. 🦐 These ocean giants swim over 10,000km, fuelled by tiny crustaceans they gorge on in Antarctica before fasting for months. In our latest blog, hear from Captain Simon on what humpbacks eat, how they feed (by the tonne), and what motivates them to make such an epic journey each year.
